***MAJOR BREAKING NEWS***

  • Like many of you I am sure, collectors and dealers alike, I have been struggling with GB Line-engraved shades for many years - in my case over 65 years, from the time that I first specialised in these issues at the tender age of 11. References, colour charts and catalogue descriptions are generally unhelpful to say the least. Accordingly, for many years now, I have been assembling a considerable collection of images of what have seemed to me from my experience, to be what best represents the catalogue descriptions. I have been helped considerably in this work by the most recent additions to the SG Part I GB Specialised Line-engraved revised shade listings of some of the 'Penny Stars'. Now available for the first time, I offer a comprehensive collection of images of Line-engraved shades from 1840 to 1863, in the form of the new CD9, of which a very small sample is illustrated here:
